VOLUNTEER

Volunteers donate thousands of hours of service each year at Union Gospel Mission. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities for both individuals and groups, including:
  • Activities
  • Adopt-a-Room
  • Chapel Speakers & Musicians
  • Development Office & General Administrative Help
  • Donations and Drives
  • Gardening
  • Healing Shepherd Clinic
  • Kitchen Service
  • Letters of Encouragement
  • Tutoring
  • Warehouse
Click here for more details about each of these Volunteer Opportunities.

All adult volunteers (18 years and older) are required to complete an application as well as sign-up for and attend a 45-minute orientation before scheduling volunteer time.

The upcoming orientation schedule is available by calling or e-mailing our Volunteer Office. Space is limited at each orientation session; therefore, volunteers must sign up in advance by e-mailing or calling a Volunteer Coordinator.

Completed applications may be brought to the scheduled orientation. Volunteers wishing to work directly with children must also submit a copy of their driver’s license and complete an Authorization Release Form which gives UGM permission to perform a criminal background check. The Authorization Form can be filled out after attending the orientation.

After completing the application and attending an orientation (and receiving a clear background check, if applicable), volunteers may schedule volunteer time by contacting Lanni Boyd. All volunteer time must be scheduled in advance.

Please note: children must be 12 years old or older to volunteer OR to accompany a parent who is volunteering. Youth volunteers (12 to 17 years of age) must be accompanied by an adult volunteer. For groups, there must be at least one adult for every six youth.
